Revitalize spaghetti night with this rich, hearty bolognese sauce that’s perfect for a busy weekday dinner. Beyond Meat is my go-to when I’m cooking with plant-based meat, and this bolognese sauce recipe comes straight from their own website. You’ll need a package of Beyond Meat’s Beefy Crumbles, an onion, garlic, thyme, a bay leaf, red wine, olive oil, tomato paste, and a small can of crushed tomatoes. For this recipe, I actually double the amount of minced garlic (4 cloves instead of 2) and I use a can of diced tomatoes instead of the crushed tomatoes. Once all your ingredients are in the pot, let it simmer for thirty minutes to an hour and breathe in the mouth-watering aroma whilst sipping on a glass of wine. (Hey, you can’t let the whole bottle go to waste!) Layer the sauce on a bed of noodles (I use gluten-free spaghetti) but any noodle will work wonderfully. So skip the jar of store-bought sauce and rejuvenate spaghetti night with this simple, vegan bolognese sauce.

Kid approved? Yes and no. Hannah liked this recipe the first time I made it, but once I started doubling the garlic it became too strong for her. I only give her a small amount of sauce on the side, so she can dip her noodles in it or skip eating it entirely. (This sauce is too good to omit from my dinner repertoire, I know she will start liking it someday!)
Baby approved? YES! Parker actually really likes this sauce, but I do give it to him sparingly mixed with noodles so the flavors aren’t too strong. He started eating vegan bolognese sauce at 9 months old.
